I suspect this is a limitation by design to streamline the internal hardware, it’s rather impressive on it’s face that they can get this little box to convert 4K down to 1080p and back and still be responsive enough to play games with, so I’m assuming they have the device determine the lowest quality needed to show, and then output that to both for simplicity.
If you connect one that has HDR and one that hasn’t, all will not have HDR. So if you connect one that has stereo sound only, all will have only stereo sound. People are writing about how the device doesn’t push HDR to the displays connected that are capable of it the important thing to remember here is that the device only pushes out the picture that your lowest-quality connected television can reproduce. I was reading through the reviews here and people seem to have some issues with this device, so when I got mine before I installed it, I threw it on my workbench to test a few things out. Very nicely made item, works great and doesn’t take up much room.
